Hi all,
I gave my first attempt two days ago and would like your opinion on whether I should re-take for better sectional scores (IR and Quant). I am happy with the overall score, but feel that I will not be able to apply to many schools due to low IR and Quant.

Here's the split:
Overall 760 (99%ile)
V47 (99%ile)
Q48 (69%ile)
IR 4 (40%ile)

Most b-schools are still not considering the IR (INSEAD has a requirement of 6, but I am not aware of any other b-schools so far setting a limit). So, I think you are good on your GMAT score. If you have an otherwise strong quant background ( past academics and work) then you should be okay.

Hi shrutip24,

Congratulations on a fantastic score. You have a phenomenal verbal score and a pretty good Quant score. If you feel you can improve your Quant score by a couple of points, then you may give it one more attempt as you have very little to loose, though I think you have a pretty solid score to apply to any business school confidently with you current score. Most business school do not give too much importance to IR so I would not worry too much about the IR section.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Hi
In my opinion, IR score of 4 is not so low and is sufficient to apply for most B schools.
Similarly Quant score is also Ok, as the overall score is in the 99%.
