Hello Experts!!
I need your guidance.
I have been trying to work on my own and succeed. I scored, consistently, 680-690 in all the mocks that I took in the last few months. But here is the problem, I need 700++.
I started my preparation in Jan'2014. By June end, I was able to cover all the topics except IR and AWA.
First Mock (800 score): 500 [V30/Q38]
Next Week Second Mock (800 score): 580 (Again because of Quants)
3rd Mock (800 score): 620 (Again Quants
)
4th Mock (800 score): 640 (Again Quants)
5th Mock (800 score): 720 (V39/Q49)
Why did I do bad on Quants? Silly mistakes because of time pressure. Inequalities was another problem.
To overcome I started taking one mock test every week.
Manhattan Free test 640 (Again Quants)
Economist Tutor Free test (640) (Again Quants)
Veritas Free test 680 (Again Quants)
670 - 680 ....... Consistently in other free mocks such as Gmat pill etc.
GMAT prep free test 640 (October beginning)
I took many free tests and every time it was quant It is not because I am bad in Maths but because I am taking more time to answer the question. May be approach!!
Materials:
4GMAT study materials.
Manhattan advanced Quants (Accuracy 95-100%)
GMAT Maths bible (Accuracy 95-100%)
Princeton Guide
Manhattan Guide
Kaplan Guide
800 score
Dummies
Now working on GMAT CLUB 700-800 PDF. Solved 70%.
But still I think I need to a lot on Quants.
IR is another problem. I am always running behind the time. Consistently 3-4.
And yes, I study everyday.
I, seriously, have no clue!! Where am I going. I don't have a group to study with.
I don't want to compromise with my target score. Please advise, what shall I do?
Do I need a private tutor to assess me and help me out? Shall I join coaching class once again. Practice material?
If I am stuck on a question, I just have no option. Where to go!! Online helps sometime, but not always.
I am in Bangalore right now. Please please advise what do I do????? Thanking you in advance!!

You need to get to the root cause of why you are missing the problems in quant.
It could be any of the following reasons:
1) Not having a strong foundation in the concepts.
2) Not comfortable with how the GMAT presents and tests the concepts. Many students struggle with the GMAT language. Are you reading everything carefully? Are you translating the information properly.
3) The flow of how you are attempting the data sufficiency problems is accurate. This is a common area of problem. For example, I see students using examples that contradict the information in the statement, or they might ignore a piece of information given in the main stem.
I would say find a local tutor and see if he can identify where you might be faltering. Or try to see if you can see a pattern in the types of mistakes you are making. I would highly recommend you to stick with official GMAT questions and CATs. They would be the ultimate barometer of how you are truly doing.

It seems that your main issue is time management. Perhaps the methods you use are not optimal. You probably make multiple equations in multiple variables and then waste lots of time in solving it all. I understand that you have checked out my posts and know the methods I follow. I would suggest you to do the following for a few days:
Pick up some new 600-700 level questions. Put your pencil and paper away. Try to solve the question in your mind. It's ok if it takes too much time in the beginning. Focus on the big picture and see if you can solve the question orally. Read one line at a time and focus on what it implies. Most GMAT questions can be solved without pen and paper. You will force yourself to think harder and focus on the important points. Initially getting used to it will take some time. Once you do, you wouldn't need to use the paper even if you have one in front of you. That is what will help you speed up and save a ton of time.
