Hi,
I am an engineer passed out from a normal university in 2010, started my career with an Indian MNC who again hires in bulk.
But after that, I struggled and improved myself a lot. Got Onsite in UK and spent 1 complete year over there with very demanding client.
After returning back to India got salary hike of approx 130% and again in next 3 months got a hike of around 30%.
As of now working in a top noted e-commerce organization of India and was promoted by this organization and presented as an extremely good performer.
But Now, I am feeling that there is no way forward.. feeling like I am stuck and there is no where to go..
I want to go for GMAT, but being married and having lot of pressure…
Can you please advise me what would be a good MBA course for me in India itself and if I can get post graduated by correspondence, will it benefit me.. or shall I go for GMAT pushing my self bit harder???
The answer to all of your questions lies in the answer of the following question:
1. Where do you see yourself after your MBA?
MBA is not all about a salary hike. There are MANY MANY more factors involved with it. It may be easy for you to think that MBA is the way out, but you need to determine first what is that way?
1. What you want to do post your MBA, what you want to be 5 - 7 years down the line.
2. Do you want to remain the technology or change your field?
Once you have answered these questions, the decision would become much easier.
Talking about the correspondence vs full time MBA, you cannot compare the two.
You would be benefitted much more by a full time MBA. Many a times, a correspondence MBA has no value at all in the market and for sure you are not going to get any job opportunities post a correspondence MBA.
You might go ahead and ask your employer if they give any weightage to a correspondence MBA.
Coming to the schools, there are some very good schools in India such as ISB, IIM - A, B, C, XLRI
But again the schools will depend on your goals. If you want to grow in the same field, either of them would be good.
If you want to change the field, things change.
All the best for the tough thinking ahead
