Hi,

I'm new to the GMAT club and need guidance on how to improve my verbal score.

I am targeting 760 GMAT score. I took GMAT prep-1 today and got 710(Q-51, V-36) after 1 month of verbal study in which I covered OG -13th edition verbal section , OG verbal study guide edition 2, Manhattan RC and SC, powerscore CR bible and few verbal online materials. However, I haven't prepared for the PS section so far. Adding to it, when I analysed my verbal performance in the test, I noticed that I made mistakes in SC and RC sections. Some errors might be made to answer the questions quickly as I remember I had 10 minutes and 3 questions left at the end of the verbal section.

I know I need to work hard to get to my target score, but I am facing issues on how to proceed further.

Hi asingh203,

Indeed, timing is an important element of the test. SC is the easiest section to reduce your time while maximizing your accuracy.

Looks like you've gone through lots of material (with the exception of Practice Pill: http://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-test/

--but even so you are noticing that doing 1,000 practice questions isn't get you the results you want.

That's because doing more questions is NOT the solution. You need to change your approach in a way that is extremely efficient. You don't want to put so much effort into a question and eat up 3-4 minutes when another approach can get you the answer in < 20 seconds. Think smarter, not harder..... and you'll get better results.

As an example, you my find this video helpful: http://www.gmatpill.com/sentencecorrect ... -lo-mo.mp4
