Well i just bought the OG19 and started with the diagnostic test. But what i realized really shocked me. I answered 5questions in 30mins which is way too long and got only 2right! ! ! I am really upset. I wasn't bad at math. But what i felt is tht my base is not good. I have MGMAT 5th edition in pdf form. My question is if i study the detailed descriptions of math basics in mgmat and the OG will it help me? N obviously i want to score good in gmat, 720+ i knw in my current situation it may sounds funny but i need your suggestions! Will mgmat guid book be enough to build a strong basic? Plz help

Sure, MGMAT quant guide is good to start with, but I don't think that itself will suffice you to get the coveted score.
Also check GMATCLUB quant book to get clarity on the basics in below link: https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-math-book-87417.html

Hi,
Congrats, as you have kicked off your journey, I wish you luck. GMAT is not an easy test because of its adaptiable feature. It is also not a Math or English test. Many students, who are master of quant, sometimes find it difficult to crack GMAT because it is a test of logic more, and less of math skills. Same goes for Verbal part. MGMAT guides are best for beginners with OG. So you are on the right track. Go for accuracy and not for speed at first. Learn as much as you can from every question you practice. Make your own flash cards. Don't target 720+ at the start. Keep target score small , and increase slowly. Bigger target will lead to frustration as GMAT is a journey for people who have perseverance and consistency.
