Fistail,
Everyone forgets what he/she learns, although it depends on a person as well. I belong to the camp who forgets fast.
You can do two things:
1) try to improve your memory and focus - Eat more nuts and do regular exercises (I mean sports) . They improve memory and increase focus.
2) use your problem to your advantage. Someone who forgets fast, learns fast as well - I know it from my own experience. Start by planning your study schedule and aim to spend first few weeks to revise old material.

The best way to improve your memory is just practicing solving problems. After about 10 problems of the same kind you will remember who to solve the 11th :)

Oh yeah it might sound strange, but video games (puzzles, and other logical games) help to remember a lot of information. It's my own experience and I don't know if it will work for you.
