Hi
satrajitsan welcome to the gmat club!
Quote:
I gave the GMAT CAT Test (for Quant & Verbal). To my shock, I scored 500.
I am assuming you took a practice test and not the actual test.

I leave at 7 am for office and reach home at 9:30 pm.
put in an hour daily, and 4-5 hours on weekends. Use public holidays to study. Start making your own flash cards as you study, and review them when you're traveling or when you're sitting idle in office. Put in your hours daily, consistency is what is more important than excelling on a daily basis. Spare a month and half only to take mock tests, it will give you sufficient time to review and bring in improvements. Which test did you take? Official gmat practice exam? or some other test prep company?

I would like to do self study and get there where I aim to be
great I'd suggest you to use
magoosh premium for quant, you will surely see a significant score improvement. They are very user friendly and reply to user queries on email within 24 hours, best value for money in the gmat prep market. Once you have mastered the basics of verbal and have solved a decent number of practice questions you will be in a better position to ask them to solve your verbal problems.
as for verbal I'd suggest you buy
egmat online. Also once you're done with your basics and have solved a decent number of practice questions, I'd suggest you check the existing CR+SC+RC guides that have been compiled by some gmatclub users like whiplash, spidey, carcass, souvik etc.
Make your own notes which are easy for reference, and also flashcards- so that you never lose touch of important concepts.
work on building your strategy for each question type! You will be taught this on
Magoosh and
egmat. Use the forum to post your queries and check the solutions provided by experts like Bunuel and others.

how i should develop a study plan
be slightly lenient with yourself when you are learning concepts, take your time... Once you're done with basics...solve gmatclub questions(buy
gmatclub tests-you might get it free with
egmat)...review each answer that you solved incorrectly/guessed/took too long to solve thoroughly, you will find a discussion thread for any gmatclub question on gmatclub.com. Maintain an
error log! Also read the inspiring debriefs on the forum to get an idea of what it takes to get there.
