Hi Snar,

We don't know your whole story but I think it will be tough for you to get 50%+ scholarships at top 20 schools. That's asking for a lot - it's tough enough to get in let alone win scholarship funding.

I'd look at programs where your GMAT is in the top 20% of the class and that have relatively generous scholarship policies. In your case, as you're interested in Finance, perhaps take a look at Rochester Simon (75% awarded scholarships) and Illinois MBA (also 75%) programs.

Hello TouchMBA,

Thanks for your help. I will definitely look into these schools. Any other schools on the top of your head that would be suitable. Thanks :)

Hey All,

I know this is a bit late in the application process, but I quite recently decided to pursue an MBA from the US starting Fall '15. Would really appreciate if you guys share your opinions on what b-schools to target.

My profile -
Nationality: Pakistan
Undergrad GPA: 3.68 (Major: Economics)
GMAT: 720 (49Q 39V)
Experience: 26 months (right now) in Investment Research at a sell side brokerage house in Pakistan.
Other: Passed all three CFA exams (first attempt - but still 2 more years experience to go for the charter)

Post-MBA I will be targeting a job in Investment Research (IB/PE/Asset Management) in the US. BUT I want to only target schools where I have a decent chance at getting >50% scholarship (not very comfortable with taking a lot of student loans). Any suggestions regarding what schools to look at?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Snar, I meant Illinois at Urbana Champaigne. Best, Darren
