Hi,
I am totally confused after reading some posts in this forum about a second MBA.
My profile in brief- Indian Male- age 33- exp 9+ years. I did my MBA from an Indian Business school 10 years back straight after my graduation.Frankly speaking it did nothing to help my knowledge as I was a fresher without any exp and could not use any of the skills with practical experience. I was working in a Financial services industry in the capacity of a Vice president. I have left my job few months back to set up a food processing unit with a friend of mine with a commitment to just set it up and hand over and move on. My main motive to resign was to prepare for GMAT and get into a B School again. I am keen in doing a one year MBA.
Some of my friends suggested that if i can convince Adcom in the colleges about second MBA i can get in,but with what ever i could see here if my candidature itself is not considered for an interview itself how can i convince them?
With my preparation i could score a 660 in one of the Kaplan mock tests.
My question to the experts here is- Will I be considered for an admission into any top colleges if i am planning to do a second MBA ?
I am taking my GMAT in 3 weeks.
Kindly help.
Interview is not the only place where you talk about your candidacy. Actually, your app is where you tell your story. You have to convince the adcom of your suitability in the app. If they do get convinced, they will call you for the interview. In the interview you wont have time to spin the yarn... in the interview they gauge whether the story you wrote is genuine or not, whether you are the person you say you are... The important thing to remember with a second MBA and substantial work experience is that you need to explain how another MBA degree will further your cause, why it fits into your plans. Also they will ask you why you don't go for a part time/executive MBA. Think these things through.
