Hi all,

I need an honest review on e gmat SC and CR coursework . Currently i am taking on average 3 mins for a CR question and I want to cut it down to 1.5-2 mins , and I follow POE approach to arrive at answer . I am done with manhattan SC guide and still can not mark under 1 min .
Can anyone let me know if E gmat helped him or her in reducing time for CR/SC ?

Hi Griffin,

I think I can answer this question. I used both egmat and GMATWhiz for my prep. Let me briefly explain you.
  • With respect to SC, both egmat and GMATWhiz don't have much difference in content.
  • The main difference lies in CR and RC. I felt that egmat teaches only falsification condition to solve CR questions. But when it comes to gmatwhiz, it has a specific framework and a pre-thinker's guide which makes life easy.
  • Coming to RC, egmat has a pretty short module for RC whereas gmatwhiz has relatively elaborate content for RC. Even though both teach you the reading strategies, gmatwhiz additionally teaches you the strategies which help you to eliminate answer choices which are very closely worded such as establish, evaluate, etc.

And I could score 97 percentile on CR after studying using GMATWhiz. So, I feel gmatwhiz has a slight edge over egmat with respect to CR and RC. I would suggest you to check the free trial and take a decision.

For difficult SC questions you should allocate more time; For the easier questions you can do the question is less time.

For CR also for the difficult questions, you might need more than 2 minutes sometimes.

With more practice, your timing will come down further.
All the best!

Hello Vamshikaithi,

I read your post on an analysis of egmat and gmatwhiz verbal course. I am about to start my preparation and want to go ahead buying either of the courses.
I'll be glad if you can elaborate more on these courses.

P.S. I had bought egmat last year but could not complete the course(Approx 60% of SC, just touched CR). I liked the course but now I am looking for a better option, if any !

Thanks & Regards.
