Hi Fellow Gmatters,
I ran into this problem in my Powerprep Test ,its Geo Question based on Triangle . I would really appreciate if someone can help me understand the solution to it .
Pls c the attachment for the Question .
Although i think this has been asked before ,but couldnt find it on the forum

Since the corresponding angles of two triangles are equal but not the sides, they are similar triangles
for those the property is (a1/a2) = (b1/b2) = (c1/c2) = (a1+b1+c1)/(a2+b2+c2) = sqrt(A1/A2)
where a, b, c are sides and A the area for each
Area of the triangle on the right (2)is twice that of left (1),
thus sqrt(1/2) = (s/S)
or s = Sqrt(2S)
The heights will also be in the same ratio thats why area is twice (sqrt (2)*sqrt(2) gives 2

When u say they are similiar triangles , do u mean they have properties of congruent triagles (if i am not mistaken)
