Hello guys!
Could someone suggest me the schools I shoot for based on my profile and GMAT (620). BTW, I want to go for Part Time MBA.
Background
I graduated from a good Engineering College in India in May of 2000 with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering. My undergraduate GPA was 3.5. After graduating, I worked for three years in Automotive manufacturing company in India. In 2003 I came to Purdue University for pursuing MS in Mechanical Engineering Technology and graduated with a 3.8 GPA in 2005. Since then I have been working for a Japanese Automotive manufacturing company in the US. Total I have 5 years of core technical experience. I gave GMAT recently and landed with a mere 620 (Q48, V27).
I want to apply for part time MBA only.
Can you comment on my chances of admission at one of the top 20 part time MBA programs? I understand that my GMAT is not good enough for a full time MBA at top 20 but I heard that part time MBA generally require lower GMAT Score?

I do agree that PT MBA programs are typically less concerned with GMAT, but if you want to get into one of the top ones such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, or NYU, GMAT may play a role. But I still recommend that you apply because you obviously have no problem in Quant and your GPAs are very good. If I were you, my strategy would be to write really good essays and personally talk to PT admission staff to show that you have no issues with communication skills.
Carnegie Mellon could be a really good choice for you also based on your heavy quant background. I think their PT MBA class has an average GMAT of 630, which makes you a very competitive candidate. It's a great school.
