Hi,

i am looking for a good full time MBA programe in the US.

my profile stands:-
Qualifications - Bachelors in Commerce garduate.
GMAT score - 680
Work Experince - 2 years ( in FAMILY business)
Academics - First class.
Extra curriculars - average.
currently doing masters in commerce.

i was going through a few colleges and did not gt much information about family business.
i plan to start a new venture after my MBA or join my family business.

please suggest some colleges where i can get in with this profile.

just by simply looking at your gmat and grades

if you pull together a solid app/essay you could probably have a shot at the elite/trans elite schools

Sounds like you are looking for an MBA program that has a strong entrepreneurship program. Here is an article that talks about some of what you should be looking for:

Based on your profile, getting into an ultra-elite would not be out of the questions, but it would definately be a stretch. Here is another link with some top entrepreneurs programs.

Besides the usual US News Top 20 appearances, there are some other interesting choices:

Babson
Depaul
Georgia Tech
Howard
RPI
Syracuse
Arizona
Colorado (Boulder)
Louisville
Maryland
Washington
Wake Forrest

I think the key is to start researching these programs and seeing if any have a particularly strong focus in the type of business you are trying to start. For example, if you are interested in Technology, or Industrial operations then Ga. Tech would probably be a good place for you.

Anyway, hope this at least get you pointed in the right direction.

You should strategize on how you will explain why you need an MBA with a masters in commerce. I've never heard of a masters in commerce but it seems like it would be quite similar to an MBA and most schools either prohibit or have a bias against candidates with prior MBAs.
