Hello,

My profile is as follows:-
Age: 26 Male
Nationality: Indian
Highest education: MBA (Dual degree - major in finance & minor in marketing)
Undergrad : Bachelor of Commerce
GPA : 2.5/4
Current work experience :- 3 years in US Taxation with a big 4 firm in India
Other achievements:- Top 3 in the Great Debate competition held at a national level by the British Council, formed and lead a debate team in college during my MBA.

I'm looking to study MFIN in US with long term prospects. Would like suggestions on a good GMAT/GRE score & which universities would I be able to get into with a scholarship/graduate assistant support.

well, you really have to crack that GMAT to 700+ score. Your undergrad scores are low to begin with and any way you can make up for them will be an effort in the right direction. GMAT / GRE is an important metric in the applications, so score the highest you can

1) What was your UG GPA? Your MBA GPA? Lead with the highest.
2) Look into certificate programs that you could do online that also provide a GPA. UCLA has one. NYU has one as well (I believe it is only in person). I am sure there are others. Assuming both of your GPA's are low, this "alternate" GPA could help.
3) CFA,FRM, etc. These designations can show your ability to study and your base knowledge of the finance material.
4) If your GPA is skewed because of a couple of bad grades, you could try and retake those classes at the school you went to or elsewhere. I know students who take math classes to show their quantitative acumen.
5) GMAT/GRE - going to need to score as high as you can.
