Hi, shreyashsaurabh,

Thank you for your post!

First of all, you did great, backing a 710 in your GMAT, and do have a good overall GPA; however, I would like you to know that since you are from an overrepresented pool of candidates, it's essential that you score around 730+ in your GMAT to increase your chances at top B-schools. About your profile, you do have an appropriate amount of work experience; now, what I would like you to do is elaborate more about your roles & responsibilities, crucial projects assigned, examples of leadership, relevant skills developed, professional accolades, and the impact generated during your work tenure.

Coming to your ECAs, I feel it's a bit brief, and most of them are during college. So, I would suggest you add some volunteering and community work and then elaborate more on the challenges you faced, the leadership role you played, and the impact you created. Also, it would help if you defined an innovative & relevant post-MBA goal as it is one of the major aspects of an applicant's profile. So, you'll need to define your short-term and long-term goals by linking them to your past experiences.

Overall, I find your profile brief at some points; hence, it's difficult to gauge schools for you accurately. I would like to know about your post0mba goals to suggest schools for you. However, you must be extremely clear on how an MBA can help you reach your goals and mention your motivation/driving force, your aspirations, and finally, why you think it's a good choice for you to go for an MBA now and you have relevant skills to be successful! If you'd like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further help you with shortlisting MBA programs;feel free to book a free session with us at your convenience.

Interact with the current B school students and industry experts who’ll help you prepare a roadmap for your R1 applications for top B schools

Cheers!

Hi shreyashsaurabh hope this finds you well

1. The most important aspect B schools evaluate the applicants on is their growth trajectory. Your 5 years of work experience is an indicator of career progression but we need to delve deeper into the specifics to be able to give any advice about how to communicate your potential to the schools.

2. Software/IT is an overrepresented demographic. As you may know, schools look beyond academics, the GMAT, the undergrad pedigree, and the strong employer brand to judge your potential. Where is the "hook factor" in your profile?
Your ECs are dated and mostly from college.

Your school selection is a function of your goals and motivations as well as your fit with the school's culture and values. Feel free to reach out if you would like to candidly discuss your MBA candidacy for suitable schools.

Best wishes
