Hi All Gmatclubbers,
I need some points regarding few AWA topics(2-argument topics, 3- issue topics). I am able to think of only one or two ideas which i believe won't be sufficient and as I am in the final stage of revision I am unable to devote much time to this. So all gmatclubbers please provide your valuable ideas. Thanks a lot in advance. The topics are listed below:
Argument topics
1.“Commercial real estate prices have been rising steadily in the Sandida Heights neighborhood for several years,
while the prices in the adjacent neighborhood of Palm Grove have remained the same. It seems obvious, then, that a
retail space in Sandida Heights must now be much more expensive than a similar space in Palm Grove, which was
not the case several years ago. So, it appears that retail spaces in Sandida Heights are now overpriced relative to
those in Palm Grove. Therefore, it would be in our financial interest to purchase a retail space in Palm Grove rather
than in Sandida Heights.”
2.“Our factory in Cookville is our most advanced and efficient. It is capable of producing ten drill bits for each dollar of
production costs, whereas none of our other factories can produce more than seven drill bits per dollar of production
costs. Therefore, we can reduce our overall drill bit production costs by devoting the Cookville factory entirely to drill
bit production. Since reducing the production costs of individual machine parts is the only way to achieve our larger
goal of reducing our overall production costs, dedicating the Cookville factory entirely to drill bit production and
shifting all other machine part production to our other factories will help us to attain that larger goal.”
Issue topics:
1.Public figures should avoid expressing opinions about things that they have not personally experienced or been
directly affected by.
2.Only by traveling outside the country of one’s birth can one understand the world and its people.
3.Lying should be avoided primarily because it harms people’s ability to live together in society
Please help.

A couple of things.
1. Check out chineseburned's thread - how-to-get-6-0-awa-my-guide-64327.html
2. From my experience, structure and correct use of English is more important than the points made themselves. Of course, you don't want to make the most ridiculous points but even what seems like a weak argument is fine for a 3rd paragraph.
Finally, don't stress about the AWA. As long as you use chineseburned's advice, you'll be on your way to a 5.0 or higher...

I agree with redjam in that the AWA is not important enough for you to be stressing over with 2 days to go. Also, the quality of your ideas is NOT scored. The only things that are scored are organization, style, and how well your essay actually answers the given question (instead of straying off-topic). Especially on the Issue Essay, whether or not your points are "good" simply does not matter and is not taken into account in determining your score. It's not strictly English language ability, either; it's the logical organization of your ideas into paragraphs, the use of clear transition words to connect your ideas, and the clarity of your argument.
