I recently took an Official GMAT prep test and scored a 580 (Q47 V23) T.T. I hit V40 2 weeks ago in a practice test and now I am back down here even though I have been consistently studying everyday (doing daily official quizzes).
Here is my scoring log for Verbal, quant has been consistent at Q47.
4/23 - Verista mock - V28 4/30 - Verista mock - V25 7/1 - GMAT PREP TEST 2 - V27 7/10 - Manhattan mock - V30 7/13 - Expert Global mock - V32 7/16 - Verista mock - V29 7/17 - Expert Global mock - V40 (was so happy after that I thought I was so ready) 7/24 - Verista mock - V27 7/30 - GMAT PREP TEST 3 - V23
1 thing very strange happened was that the more official questions I did, the lower score I got. Between 7/1~7/15, I did only unofficial questions from GMAT club tests + other sources and felt pretty comfortable with CR, until I started doing more official questions that my score started dropping and I felt more out of shape with CR.
Been studying consistently for 8 months, went through 2 online courses, bought official question pack 1 + official advance book to practice. I feel pretty comfortable with SC (80~90% accuracy) but not CR and RC (50% and 40%). I don't keep an error log.
My exam is in 1 month from now, PLEASE HELP!! What would you recommend me doing for the next 1 month to improve? I am open to taking another course + seeking tutor.
Thank you, ngoctoen

1. stop using unofficial material (ain't nothing like the real thing). 2. go back to this recent practice test and analyze the &*^@ out of each problem for which you picked the wrong answer. 3. Reflect on what caused you to eliminate the correct answer, and what about the answer you chose made you choose it. Those are two important lessons that you have to learn from each problem you got wrong, and you should try your best to make your takeaways applicable to that category of problem, rather than to just that one particular problem. 4. I've shared my best practices for CR and RC (and SC) in YouTube videos which you can view for free - I'll paste some links below. Message me if I can be of further assistance. Best of luck, Avi
Might be worth gauging yourself with Official Mocks from now on. Your old Official Mocks may also show some data regarding your performance that may be helpful/provide insight.
