thanks bb and unplugged for your advises.

hope to follow all the things you suggested. My plan is to do as many tests as I can till 2 days prior to the actual test. I know I have to do a lot better in the RC. in the currect exam (gmat prep 2, as mentioned above), I made all wrongs in one RC. so that killed my score.

especially if I see RCs in indian tribe treaties and federal regulations, I can't understand a thing, but I do well in RCs that involve science, physics, and even in the biology sections.

I will look into OG and see if I can find RCs in areas that I think difficult and solve them.

unplugged, you are right on SCs mistakes. making 5 mistakes is still a huge damage. hope to do the gmatprep sc document as many times as I can improve atleast 2 more corrects in here.

somehow, I have to put better focus solving the questions in the exam rather than worrying about the time for each and every question. this is taking a part of my brain processing capability :-D

thanks again for nice points.

ugimba,

This is exactly the situation that I was facing the past weekend. Even my GMAT scores were 730 and 710 in Prep 1 and 660 in prep 2. And that really shattered me a lot. Now when I start thinking what was the reason for that, I realized it is just mere fear of facing the exam. Infact before attempting GMATPrep 2, I treated as if it was my real GMAT. That fear itself affected my timings in both the sections - especially in Quant. At one point I was lagging behind by 10 min in Quant which made me to do a wild / intellegent guesses in my 20's questions. Some people might be comfortable in quant while others might be comfortable in Verbal. It is easy to make up the lost time in a section that you are comfortable with(say in my case Quant) when you are aware that you are off the timing. But for the other section, it might not be the case. So it is always better to be on track with timing.

Here is one other strategy that I am following w.r.t timing. And this is working out fine for me. Probably you can give a try.

First column is the questions that I complete, second column is the number of minutes left on the clock in Quant at the end of the Q # , third column is the number of minutes left on the clock in Quant at the end of the V #. It is very easy remember this number grid, that before you even start the exam, make a note of it on your paper. This way you can easily know how you are w.r.t your timings.

05 66 67
10 56 58
15 46 49
20 36 40
25 26 31
30 16 22
35 6 13
40 -- 04

Two weeks is still ample time. The state of your mind definitely plays a big role and it can swing your score to either way. I would suggest that you work on keeping your senses cool and energetic. :gl

mrsmarthi,
thanks for suggestions. yes, I think it's mostly mental now for me. it all depends on how cool and how focussed I will be in the exam, and the RC passages I get in the exam :-D

I really need to rest in the final week, as I already see how tired I am and how restless I feel.

and thanks for the clock timings. I follow timing schedule only for verbal. I just started following the timer scheduling so it made me look at the time n number of times to gauge where I stand in the timer schedule.

How is your preparation coming along?
