Hey guys,
I've been using Powerscore CR Bible and OG 13 to go through my Critical Reasoning approach. Initially, I was going through the chapters of Powerscore and then thought I would time myself in OG once I finished the Powerscore book. I got to chapter 9 (Resolve) and figured I would give OG a go.
Through the 8 chapters I covered in Powerscore to that point, I only answered incorrectly on two of the questions, drills, mini-drills, etc. However, on OG, I did pretty bad (like 60% or so) through the first 80 problems.
I then tried to take time through the Resolve chapter and then go to the OG questions that are related to Resolve and try those. I scored 8/13 for those questions - pretty terrible.
Anybody else experience this problem? I have just under 6 weeks until my GMAT exam. I have a BS in Applied Math, so I'd prefer to spend the next 2.5 - 3 weeks between CR and SC (I have Manhattan SC and also have OG Verbal Supplement) and then finish tying up loose ends in quant before I barrel through some more CATs. I sense the difficulty being a bit harder on the OG problems, and when I look at the answer explanations on the ones I choose that are incorrect, they tend to be a second best or one that is "too strong," so at least I am not completely off in my incorrectness haha. I guess what I'm really looking for is some guidance from other forum members that have had similar issues or helped someone with these similar issues. Is it really just a lack of focus when I sit down and do the real thing? Anything at all would help!
Also, as a benchmark, I'm trying to hit V40 on the actual test, so I would like to be up around at least 85% proficiency for CR.
