I have been accepted to a graduate school that offers 1/2 off their tuition if you get a 620. I took the GMAT a month ago and got a 580. I have until Dec 31st to re-take the GMAT and apply for this merit-based scholarship.
I need advice on how to study and when to take the test. Should I take the test late Dec or both in November and December? I'm afraid that if I only give myself one chance that it will be too much pressure. Before taking the test the first time on 9/27, I had studied for 4 months. I did extremely well on the English section but awful in the math section (24th percentile). I have not studied since taking it in September, because I got accepted into school and was unaware of this opportunity, but will begin my studies again tomorrow.
What would you suggest I do in order to improve my math score? Do you recommend taking the test one more time or two?
Thank you so much for your help!
Hi,
Its best to give the test when you feel fully prepared for it. Its no use keeping in mind that you have a second chance, and just wait to screw up the first one.
The best thing to do now will be to give a mock test and see whr u stand. If you feel the score is decent as per your requirement, then book the date for a months time( this will keep the pressure up and make you study for exam)
Otherwise, book it for 2 months time.
Be confident in whatever you do !!
Good Luck
