hi all,

Hope you help me with my concerns.

After graduating from top MBA program (top 5), I started to work for a well-known company for 2 years. I decided to study but was not serious enough to try PhD program at top schools. I got accepted into 150th ranking DBA and am in my first quarter.

For the doctorate program, I studied hard and got very good GPA 3.9/4.0. Then, I discovered myself able to do research as well. I attempted a few research proposals and got good feedbacks. I was encourged to publish to a so-so journal as I am just in first year and try a better journals.

Now, I decided to try PhD at good school like top 15-30 (Yale, Indiana). The problem that I cannot get my recommendation letters from my current professors that I have worked with. I even cannot think of talking with him/her as they accepted me with commitment.

My professors are reputable in the field. Should i stay with the low-ranking program or switch to a well-known school. I do not mind to take first year and start again. I want to get into a brand school so I can teach in good school.

My GPA undergrad 3.8. MBA 3.2, DBA 3.9, GMAT 730.

Any advice on recommendation? GMAT retake? a few school names good at management?
