Check out the link
https://www.gmattutor.com/gameplan.html - it has some very good preparation plans based on how many hours you have for study. I am going with a "modified" hunded hour plan.
I am going to use the following books only:
Kaplan GMAT 2005 (book and CD)
OG 10
OG 11
PowerPrep
GMATPrep
Still debating:
Manhattan gmat SC
This is my plan:
1) Read strategy from Kaplan book for each section
2) Give the online test for each section from the Kaplan 2005 gmat CD. (I know they are tougher than actual gmat, but I like to start with tough)
3) Read the explanation to the answer for each section test from Kaplan.
4) Once I feel comfortable that I have a decent grasp of each section, I will give PowerPrep 1. I am giving this test before referring to OG10 because a lot of questions are repeated.
5) Analyze the results of the test, and prioritize the sections from weakest to strongest.
6) Start solving 50 questions a day from OG10 for each section in the order determined in #5.
7) Again, after my "hit rate" is high enough, I will give PowerPrep2 AND GmatPrep 1.
8) Repeat step 5, 6, 7 and give PowerPrep 2 (may be I will give a different test - depends - still not decided).
9) Start solving OG11 for each section. Questions in OG11 are ordered by difficulty level, so it is very important to solve as many questions from OG11 as possible.
10) Finally give one Kaplan test and GMATPrep 2. I may again give some more tests depending on how comfortable I feel (I have Princeton review CD and a couple other tests).
I am looking for around mid-end August test date. The company I work for requires a lot of travel, so I get very little time during the week to prepare - most of my preparations are going to be weekends.
For SC, if I feel my hit-rate is not good, I may get the
MGMAT SC - the reviews look very promising.
Any suggeestions on my plan?
