Hi All,
A number of people in the past couple of weeks received a survey from GMAT testing a new GMAT feature which I'm calling: Skip and Review. Yes, that's right: A new GMAT that allows you to go back and change answers as you can on the GRE. The skipping/reviewing is a bit limited in that you can only skip within groups of 5 questions. So on question 5 you can review 1 through 4. On question six you can review 2 through 5. Although I'd have a nostalgic feeling for the "blind" GMAT which doesn't give any hints of whats to come, I'd likely side with the new feature.
A couple of things remain unclear:
1. Would the scoring change?
2. Does the algorithm take into account things that you get wrong but go back to and correct?
Because you'd be able to work on more familiar questions first I think this version of the GMAT would be a little easier. I suppose the algorithm could be tweaked to accommodate that. In the meanwhile I'm sure that GMAC is pouring over the data to make sure that if "skip and review" is brought to the mainstream that the GMAT will remain a valid benchmark. There was no indication about when the new feature might be coming to a GMAT center near you.
Happy Studies,
A.
