I downloaded the "new" GMATPrep software in addition to the "old" PowerPrep software, figuring that even though I'm taking the exam prior to January 1, a little extra practice couldn't hurt.
Anyway, I just took the first full-length practice test, and judging by how it was going, I figured I was doing fine on verbal but awful on quantitative. And yet, the score I got was 760 - 48 quant and 47 verbal. This despite the fact that I got 13 questions wrong on the quant section and only 4 wrong on the verbal section.
Personally I found the math questions on it to be much more challenging than those on PowerPrep or even on Kaplan. And yet the score seems inflated, judging by how poorly I did in answering the questions. On the real CAT, I doubt that I could've managed a 48 in quant by getting four in a row wrong of the earlier questions, could I?
Has anyone else tried this software? How do you think it compares to the "real thing" in terms of accuracy of score prediction, or level of difficulty of the questions?
