Hi my name is Tina and I'm currently a in my 3rd year undergrad. By reading these posts, it seems to me that I have a lot to do in order to prepare for the GMAT. I know it's not for a couple years, but hey, is it ever too early to start? I have just bought OG Verbal and Quant, and from I gathered here, the quant OG is not so popular. I also bought the
MGMAT Equalities, Inequalities. Is there anything else I can do to prepare? I'm a little rusty on my math skills. What can I do to refresh my memory? I appreciate any help!
Welcome, Tina.
Most people here agree that you have higher chances of scoring well on gmat if you give it while in college or soon after graduating, when the math concepts are fresh in your mind, you are in the "study mode", and you have time to prepare. Once you start working, it becomes increasingly difficult to give time and energy to gmat.
Having said that, I think 2-4 months is the max time you should take to prepare gmat. I think if you give it too much time you will get lax and lose interest.
The math concepts tested on gmat are not very difficult. I suggest you give a mock test or diagnostics test, and identify the math areas you need most practice in (eg. permutation/combination) and post back. The forum members are very helpful and they will give you great suggestions.
Good luck.
