Let the price of each widget be p $ and Total money = X $
--> X = 6*p ....... (1)

If the cost of each widget were reduced by $1.25, then Nina would have exactly enough money to purchase 8 widgets
--> X = 8*(p - 1.25) ....... (2)

Equating (1) & (2)
--> 6*p = 8*p - 10
--> 10 = 2*p
--> p = 5 $

Total money = X = 6*p = 6*5 = 30 $

IMO Option C

So from stem 8*1.25 (Reduction)=2 Widgets; so 1 widget is 5$ before reduction and so 6 widgets cost is 30.

Let’s denote the price of one widget by p and Nina’s money by n. We can create the equations:

6p = n

and

8(p - 1.25) = n

8p - 10 = n

Equating our two equations, we have:

8p - 10 = 6p

2p = 10

p = 5

Nina has 5 x 6 = 30 dollars.

Answer: C
