Let the present age of Nisha be N and Romi be R
N = 15 + R
Before 5 years:
Nisha = N - 5
Romi = R - 5
Given: N - 5 = 3(R - 5)
15 + R - 5 = 3R - 15
10 + R = 3R - 15
2R = 25
R = 12.5
So, N = 15 + 12.5 = 27.5

IMO, (B)!

Solution:

The question tells us that Nisha is \(15\) years elder than Romi.

Then the question goes \(5\) years back. So at that time also Nisha would have been \(15\) years elder to Romi.

So, let us assume Nisha'a age \(5\) years ago \(= x\). So, Romi's age \(= x-15\)

We know: \(x=3(x-15)\)

\(⇒ x=3x-45\)

\(⇒ x-3x=-45\)

\(⇒ -2x=-45\)

\(⇒ x=\frac{45}{2}\)

\(⇒ x=22.5\)

So, Nisha'a age \(5\) years ago \(= x=22.5\). This menas NIsha's age today \(= 22.5+5= 27.5\)

Hence the right answer is Option B.
