Hi,
I took the GMAT blind and got a 550 on my first time, which I know is awful considering the schools I would like to attend. However, I just finished taking the
Manhattan GMAT prep course and have scored the following on the last 3 exams:
570
560
590
Sadly, none of these score are going to cut it. I am scheduling to take the exam at the end of January and if needed, the end of February before my busy season starts (I work in a big accounting firm). Here are some of my credentials other than my poor GMAT scores:
-I have a 3.2 cumulative GPA in accounting w/ a CPA license.
-Since college, I have only worked for one firm, a Big 4 accounting firm and have been promoted since starting (have 5+ years of experience).
-Great letters of recommendation from top ranked positions w/i my firm; good essays; multiple extra-circulars
-I have done work with a few "start up companies" which have recently been bought out by some of the largest internet companies in the world so I have some experience outside the accounting field within entrepreneurship.
-also have 100% sponsorship from employer as they are more than happy to be flexible w/ work/life balance and are willing to pick up the entire bill. Not sure if that helps in ANY way?
I know my score is not even close to getting in to Stern, but wondering if anyone has seen drastic increases my practice exams to the real test? Also wondering what a good benchmark score would be considering my current resume.
Thanks in advance for your time!
