Hey everyone.
I've been poking around this site and love everything about it. After reading some "how to get started" posts, I purchased the MGMAT set and the OG guide, verbal guide, and quantitative guide books.
The one thing I dread, however, is a diagnostic test.
They have never been good to me. SAT & MCAT included. I feel like they just set my mind at a bar and i can't get over it.
I've been out of school since '08, and am heading to medical school in the fall, so I need to take my GMAT before that. What I would rather do is study everything thoroughly, keep up with the guide, and so on, and just take the test after that. I'm shooting for a 700+ to get into the b-school attached to my medical school, so I feel like I'd have to do everything anyway.
How do others feel about this? Anybody not do a diag to start off and feel fine? Thanks for your help!

Everyone does not "need" a diagnostic, but generally, it helps provide a good over view of where you are and what you need to do to get where you want to be.
You'll be studying "blind" w/o a diagnostic. That being said, I'm sure you can find success stories w/people not taking a diagnostic test.

You will need to get over this fear sooner or later 
I can guarantee that you will feel 100x better after you start addressing the weaknesses a diagnostic exposed.
