yeah i know that but thought may be can get some insight on min questions that should be correct to achieve something substantial. Anyway thank you for the info. Can you give me info about CAT based GMAT Test available online for free or the ones I should i buy (there are hell lot of test available)?

Maybe someone else has some insight as to the number you can get right, but my understanding is that it can't be broken down into just numbers, because the algorithm takes into account other statistical factors when determining your score.

As for practice tests, you can download two free ones from mba.com which are the GMATprep tests. These are the gold standards because they use real retired questions and gmat algorithm.

Second best, in my opinion, are the Manhattan GMAT tests. If you buy any of their books you get access to 6 practice tests.

This is not the right approach for GMAT. If you target score is 650 aim to get 680 consistently in tests. Even if you know how much to prepare to get a 650, that won't be fruitful as a bad day can make 650 a 610.

There is only one right way to prepare for the GMAT - Have very little life outside GMAT for 4-5 months and give your best shot once.

Shoot for at least 50 pts above your minimum requirement. If a 650 is "good enough", think about how great a 700 would feel...
