Sorry.

I know how you feel. But know this. Next week you won't care about these dings. Life goes on.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm ready to shake it off and move on. It's been great seeing how other people have had setbacks, like dings at their top choices, but then something else comes along, like a big scholarship at another one of their schools, or after being dinged at their top choice they go to the admit weekend of one of their other schools and find out that they love it there.

So I'm feeling pretty good that I'm going to get my Hollywood ending from Stern (I don't belive in "jinxing" things so I don't have a problem saying that)!

Johnny, you did way better than I did! They digned me so quick - without interview - that I think they just waited a few weeks as part of some kind of etiquette. You know, like not calling for 3 days after a date.

Glad to hear the good attitude, Johnny. It'll come through.

Yale has been a tough tough nut this year - we're hoping for the relatively small number of places left after you factor in all those folks from last year who deferred.

Johnny, hang in there man. I trust NYU should come forward. While the situation may be slightly different because we are approaching the end of R2, look at my case: I had 100% dings in R1 (and had to live with the horrible ding mood for almost 4 months) and then everything worked out fine. I sincerely hope it's the same for you.

Cheers. L.

EconGirl, Lepium - Thanks.

I interviewed at Stern last week. (Again, no fear of jinxing) I thought I totally nailed the interview, so I'd be shocked if it didn't work out. I'll keep you posted!

That really sucks Johnny. Yale must have received a ton of highly qualified applications this year. Keep your chin up and sniper in on NYU. Weren't you accepted at a back-up school somewhere?

GMATT73 - Yep, got a full ride to Boston University, and accepted at Boston College. If I get into Stern, I'm not sure I'd pick that over BU. Passing on a full ride to BU and the increased cost of living in NY make Stern about $85K more expensive. The BU program I was accepted to is a dual degree, you graduate in two years with an MBA and a Masters in Information Systems. Which would be valuable if I end up in healthcare consulting as I'm currently leaning towards.

I guess passing on Stern (if I get in that is) would mean the top consulting firms would no longer be options for me, but that isn't exactly Stern's strong-suit anyway. I don't know, I change my thoughts on this stuff all the time.
