Hi to all,
I am a new member here and I would appreciate some advice. The following is my information:
I graduated undergrad in 1995 from Boston College with a 3.5 gpa in history
Graduated from Dental School in 2000
Pursued 4 years in post graduate to specialize. I treat mostly cancer reconstructions, people who are dentally debilitated, etc.
I am currently running my own successful dental practice and am an assistant professor at a University as well.
I took my GMAT and scored a 730.
I would like to leave private practice and move into running a dental school or management of a medical conglomerate. My questions are as follows.
1) Am I competitive to get into Stanford, Harvard, MIT or Wharton? These are schools that I would like to go to, but my wife also dictates the states she is willing to move to.
2) From whom do I get my recommendations? My professors from undergrad will not remember me. Dental school ditto as well.
3) Is there anything else I should do to strengthen my chances for admissions to the above? My whole life after school has been dedicated to private practice and as a result I don't have what I would normally define as a pre-requisite to entering MBA school such as consulting, investment banking, etc experience.
4) I am fast approaching 40. Do business schools discriminate on age? I am not interested in anything part-time. I would like to sell my practice and devote 100% of my time to getting an MBA.
Thanks in advance!
