Well, Chicago and Wharton let you know you are dinged pretty early on. They use the same process where interview requests are handed out, and those not interviewed are dinged immediately.
UCLA is known to hand out admits on a rolling basis. Darden calls people starting a few days to a week in advance of the decision deadline. The timing of the decision seems to have no bearing on how much they liked your application, as I didn't receive call before or on the deadline, but was offered a scholarship.
I applied regular decision at Columbia, so I don't know about their ED process; but their RD is rolling. They review applications in order received up to the deadline, and dole out interview requests throughout the process. Any of 3 readers could call for an interview, so you could wait a week or a month for an interview. Once the interview has been recorded, it depends on how many people read your application in advance (2 or 3 total read it). If it doesn't need to be read further, you could get your decision a couple of days after your interview, or it could take a few weeks.
For Stanford, I can just confirm that dings go out on the decision date. I think interviews can be arranged up until the deadline date.
