HI Swetha,

It's important, early on in your studies, to establish a 'baseline' score. We can use this to get a sense of your immediate strengths and weaknesses and it will serve as a basis for comparison as you continue to study. As such, you should plan to take a FULL CAT soon (you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com). A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so you should make sure to set aside enough time to take it in one sitting.

If you want to get in a bit of practice to familiarize yourself with the material that will be tested, then that's fine, but you shouldn't wait too long to take that CAT. Once you have that set of score results, you should post back here and we can talk about the various ways that you can approach your studies.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you in advance for all your answers!!

I am an IT working professional with 8 yrs of experience and mom of two little kids. I always had a dream of writing GMAT and join a good business school, was always busy with family and work.
I live in San Francisco, why not take the opportunity of joining UC Berkeley or Stanford(BIG DREAM). Started GMAT prep many times and dropped the plan, this time I am very serious about pursuing the plan of going to good business school to stand for myself in life.

I lost in touch with Math and not great at Grammer, I want to give a 6 months of prep for 700+ score. I would appreciate, if anyone can suggest me a good start off with my GMAT prep plan.

Thanks,
ReddyS

Hey ReddyS

With 6 months to prep, you have plenty of time to study.

Take a look at our 2-3 month study plan to get an idea of your approach: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... study-plan

You don’t have to follow it exactly but the structure of the study plan should be the same structure that you take in your approach.

Since you're having problems with verbal, we have plenty of resources to help you prep.

As you study, we recommend that you focus on one particular subsection for multiple consecutive days before moving onto the next. You can see this in our study plan where we recommend 5 days on nothing but SC -- before moving onto CR and then RC.

Here is a sample SC video to help you start your journey: https://www.gmatpill.com/sentencecorrect ... ythons.mp4

As far as math, we have video explanations such as this, to help you get back in touch: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... stion/1069

Best of luck on your studies!
