Number of staff supervised

Question

On the application form, what is everyone filling for the field "Number of staff supervised" - Does it have to include direct reports only or staff supervised on a project? Problem with the latter is it varies across projects. So unsure of what should go in that section.

I supervise teams of 3-15. I've been putting 8 because it doesn't allow a range. Then in the resume, I've spoken to the 15-person team and the 3-person so you can pretty easily see that there's a range.

I'm curious about this as well. What about people that report to the people who report to you? What about people who report to you but are in a different locations/countries?

For example, if Jeff Immelt were applying would he put 300k employees? Or the 15 or whatever people he "supervises" on a day to day basis?

to your first question, i think you put down ALL reports, direct or sub-direct, on your application.
to your second question, if jeff immelt were applying, he would give hbs admissions a call and say "hi this is jeff immelt."
