What is the most number of time you guys know of anyone taking the GMAT? Is it frowned upon or if you show improvement is it acceptible despite the number of time you have taken it.
Reason I ask is that I see more and more people taking it 2 or 3 times.
The official word from most schools is that they will consider your highest score for up to 3 attempts. If you try more than 3 times, schools may handle that differently. UCLA, I believe, says that they will average your scores if you take it more than 3 times. Other schools may continue to just take your highest score. Dartmouth is fairly unique in that they are willing to take your highest V and Q from separate tests.
