Hi GMAT Club Community!
I have received admission to the full-time MBA program from ESSEC and NUS and now I am faced with a tough choice.
I am an Indian national with five Years of work experience.
My goal is to make a career change into consulting industry and my current work experience revolves around project management for the Energy and Electronics industry.
Any insights that help me in making this decision will be highly appreciated.
Thanks !
Hi Priyanshugpt1
Congratulations on your admits!
While you have admits from two of the top-tier programs, it is important to note that neither of these programs are natural feeders into consulting.
Both these schools have low double digit % students cracking into consulting industry post-MBA.
I do not wish to demotivate you, rather give you a realistic picture that despite whichever one you chose, you will have to work hard and network well to leverage each programs reach and it's alumni community fully to be able to breakthrough into consulting.
To answer your question on point about which of the two programs to chose, it eventually boils down to which geography is of most interest to you for your post-MBA employment. Both these schools have a respectable brand name in their respective continents i.e NUS is Asia and ESSEC in Europe and will help you find employment in those regions.
So the best way to make that decision on selecting one of the two schools is to start with the end goal in mind as to where you would like to work most in your post-MBA career.
Hope this was helpful. Do keep us posted on whatever you decide.
Best,
