Given,
Total= 30 integers,
A=15
B=22
Both=8
Now using the relation
Total= A + B - Both + Neither
We get...
30= 15 + 22 - 8 + Neither
Or, Neither = 30 - 29 = 1

Answer Is Option (B).

Of 30 integers, 15 are in set A, 22 are in set B, and 8 are in both set A and B. How many of the integers are in NEITHER set A nor set B ?

A. 0
B. 1
C. 2
D. 3
E. 4

We can create the equation:

Total = # in A + # in B - # in Both + # in Neither

30 = 15 + 22 - 8 + N

30 = 29 + N

1 = N

Answer: B

Neither = Total - (A + B - both) = 30 - (15 + 22 - 8) = 38 - 37 = 1

IMO B
