This question can be solved by TESTing THE ANSWERS.
We're told that there are 60 total employees and the number in the sales department is TWICE the number of all of the other departments combined. We're asked for the number of employees in the sales department.
Let's TEST Answer B: 20 employees
IF...
Sales = 20
All Others = 10
Total = 20+10 = 30
This is TOO SMALL (it's supposed to be 60 total employees), thus we need a larger number...
Let's TEST Answer D: 40 employees
IF...
Sales = 40
All Others = 20
Total = 40+20 = 60
This is an exact MATCH for what we were told, so this MUST be the answer.
