I am actually hoping that VW releases a diesel rabbit this summer/fall. Thats the perfect city car...hatchback, small enough to park easily but big enough to plenty of junk in it, it rides well and is comfortable, and best of all gets 40+mpg in the city. Definitely going to be selling our two cars and downsizing to one cheaper one for a few years while we live a more frugal lifestyle. Especially if insurance and parking in Chicago are expensive.

Well, I don't know about good, but I have fun.
I haven't been active on ETalk since getting the F500 about a year ago, but yes, same screen name over there. I race out of Jacksonville, FL... altho assuming my b-school plans work out, I'll just be doing indoor karting for the next couple of years. Anyway, seems like there are lots of Elise fans here too.

Gotcha. You've (obviously) missed a lot of drama over there, but the big news is that there's multiple supercharger kits released, with the ECU problems solved. So a lot of people are renewing their interest in what was a slightly underpowered car to begin with.
Going FI was actually going to be my self-reward if I didn't get into school anywhere as a consolation prize...but now, I guess it'll have to wait. Which schools are you looking at? Anywhere in Chicago?
Oh, and as for the comments re: bathtubs, I'm not sure what you mean? It is a bit cozy inside the Elise, but I'm actually 6'4", and I fit just fine. I don't even put the seat all the way back. For comparison, I cannot fit in an SLK or S2K. So, looks can be deceiving!

I figure with all the money I'll be saving living in the burbs (she can cover all our expenses on her salary, and I'm on her insurance plan), we'll make it through. So....BBQ at my place?
