The Official Guide 2026-2027 is the single best source of real, retired GMAT questions - arranged by difficulty, with solid explanations. But it has one frustrating flaw: there is no easy way to locate a specific question, target a weak area, or track how you are actually doing. This Error Log fixes that - it turns the book into a searchable, self-grading, analytics-driven study system.
Log an answer once and the sheet fills in the difficulty, category, percentile, and whether you got it right - then the Analysis tab updates your accuracy and weak spots live.
⏱️ Get started in 60 seconds
- Make your own copy first - in Google Sheets: File > Make a Copy. (Or download the Excel version attached below.) You must copy it before you can edit - please don't request edit access to the master.
- Go to the Error Log tab and enter your answer in the Your Answer column (A-E).
- The result auto-colors green (correct) or red (incorrect). Log your time too, if you like.
- Open the Analysis tab to watch your accuracy, weak areas, and charts update in real time.

💡 What's new and better this year
- Color-coded difficulty at a glance - Easy / Medium / Hard / Very Hard, plus a percentile heat-map so you can see how hard a block of questions really is.
- Live Analysis dashboard - KPI band (attempted, accuracy, completion) and four charts: outcome doughnut, accuracy by section, correct-vs-incorrect by difficulty, and an outcome-mix view.
- Auto "Focus Area" - the dashboard names your single weakest section in plain English and tells you to drill it next.
- Data-bar progress meters on every accuracy figure.
- "New" flag restored - every question that was not in the 2025-2026 edition is marked.
- Book page references - question page and answer-explanation page included for every numbered question.
- Bug fixes - the by-difficulty analysis miscount from prior versions has been corrected; all formulas re-verified.

Some notes about the 2026-2027 edition
- The printed book numbers 850 questions (PS, DS, TPA, RC, CR). MSR and G&T are online-only and have no official book numbers, so they are listed at the end (numbered 851+) by their question IDs.
- Difficulty is split into 4 tiers (Easy / Medium / Hard / Very Hard) based on the percentage of test-takers who miss the question in GMAT Club Timer sessions - not the book's coarser 3-tier label. Note that difficulty is not strictly linear through the book.
- As always, only a small number of questions are truly brand-new; many "new" entries are older questions recycled from prior OGs, GMAT Prep, and EA pools. All are flagged in the New column.
❗ Errata & known issues
(transparency - help us fix anything you spot)
- The official book index reuses a few question IDs for multiple questions, and 9 entries had incorrect IDs/links in the source index. These were cross-checked against their GMAT Club threads and corrected in this log (questions 98, 261, 356, 460, 539, 541, 542, 593, 849).
- If you find a wrong answer key, mislabeled category, or a broken reference, please post below or PM me and I'll update it.
