Wow! I can't believe the founder responded to my post! Cool!
For sure, I would rather study the concepts rather than blindly bulldozing through practice questions. I've mulled through a lot of the information on this website and it's great! I have a weakness in Verbal but could also improve on the Math. Here are my recent purchases to aid me in my next effort to bump up my score:
1. The PowerScore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible: A Comprehensive System for Attacking the GMAT Critical Reasoning Questions
2. Reading Comprehension GMAT Strategy Guide 7, Fourth Edition (
Manhattan GMAT the new standard)
3. Sentence Correction GMAT Preparation Guide, 4th Edition (
Manhattan GMAT Preparation Guides)
4. Grammar Smart (Princeton Review) - Reference Reading
I've also made my own
error log (side note: I think I have a good idea for an Access program for the
error log if someone hasn't already tried to do it). I've only done a few practice sessions so I'd like to understand my real weaknesses in the concepts so that I can build them up. I don't really have that much problem in Math in the sense that I think that if I practice and see a well versed response, I'd be able to pick up on the formula/concept pretty easily. Obviously by the purchases above I am heavily banking on improving my verbal score. Although I know that it may seem I'm putting too much emphasis on the verbal, I do value a balanced approach to improving my score.
I heard several good recommendations about the books above (short of paying the $$$ for another class - just got done with Princeton Review).
I'd be interested to hear what you think! (Preferable before 30 days so i can return the books if you don't like them
)
By the way, just looked at the Gmat Guide - very helpful!
