We can simply solve it

1/x + 1/(1+x) = 1/(x+4)

(1+x-x) / (x^2 + x) = 1 / (x+4)

x+4 = x^2 - x

x^2 = 4

x = +/- 2

couldnt not understand buddy. how did 1/x - 1/x+1 = 1/x+4 become 1/x + 1/(1+x) = 1/(x+4) (minus became +)
didnt get the step below as well :?:

My approach was POE .

Looking at the answer choices you can eliminate 0 , -1 , -4 right off the bat . Plug in -2 ,-3 and -2 gives us the result.
