Hi all,
I just registered for my GMAT (Philly, September, 2012) with the goal of beginning a Drexel MBA in Fall 2013. I have about 20 years W.E.
Seems like the goal for most people is a score of 700+, so that is my aim. That is a personal challenge more than anything else, i.e., I am not trying to get into an elite b-school, I just want to get the highest score of which I am capable.
I am much stronger Verbal than Quant. Quant is where I will spend the bulk of my prep/study time. I have a tutor and want to supplement a prep course with tons of self-study.
I am not overly concerned with the application process, but I am open to suggestions!
Question: is it ever too early to start prepping?
Any other advice and input would be appreciated.

Too early, maybe, but if you have a goal in mind, getting there might be tough.
Having 20+ we leads me to believe you have a lot going on outside of work (family, orgs you're associated with, etc.). Giving yourself a bit more time is not a bad thing.
Start off with a practice test and develop a study plan going from your weakest sections upward. Keep an error log and do analysis to figure out WHY you are getting certain problems incorrect. If you get to a point where you're comfortable well before the test, just brush up on content and take a practice test every so often to keep yourself on your toes.
