case 1- person A chooses a novel
the probability that the book selected by Person B is a novel? = (60/80)(59/79) = 177/346
case 2- person A chooses a poetry
the probability that the book selected by Person B is a novel? = (20/80)(60/79)= 60/346
the probability that the book selected by Person B is a novel = 177+60/346 = 237/346
the probability that the book selected by Person B is a novel? = (60/80)(59/79) = 177/346
case 2- person A chooses a poetry
the probability that the book selected by Person B is a novel? = (20/80)(60/79)= 60/346
the probability that the book selected by Person B is a novel = 177+60/346 = 237/346

Since we don't know which book was chosen by the first person, it is a mutually exclusive event.
Scene1: If A chooses novel book, then probability of B choosing a novel is: (60/80)*(59/79) = 177/316.
Scene2: If A chooses poetry book, then probability of B choosing a novel is: (20/80)*(60/79) =60/316.
Now, we get the probability of B selecting a novel as (60+177)/316 = 237/316 = 3/4.
Hence, D is the answer.
