The difference of years between 2010-1950 = 60 years
In 60 years the rate would have doubled 5 times (60/12)
now initial rate was 15*100
after 12 years rate = 30 *100
after 24 years rate = 60 *100
after 48 years the rate = 120 *100
after 60 years the rate = 480 *100= 48000

You missed the calculation here at 36 years. While the answer is correct, during the test it may lead you to come to the number 24000 if you miss a step. :)
