$$-5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3: x = -1.$$

$$-2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6: y = 2.$$

$$-1, 0, 1, 2: \frac{0+1}{2} = \frac{1}{2}.$$ Ans - D.

Time taken:1:22
Option: D
Here you go
step#01
x is mid-point of -5,3
remaining
-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2
mean x=-1
Step#02
y is mid-point of -2,6
remaining
-1,0,1,2,3,4,5
mean y=2
new range
-1,0,1,2
Add 0 and 1 and divide by 2
Result=1/2

X: $$\frac{-5+3}{2}$$ = -1

Y: $$\frac{-2+6}{2}$$ = 2

Number halfway between x and y:

$$\frac{-1+2}{2}$$ = $$\frac{1}{2}$$
