Once an apolitical confrontation of the world’s best athletes, the Summer Olympics have been increasingly politicized in recent years as the superpowers have denied many of the best athletes’ access to competition.

(A) been increasingly politicized
(B) been increasing politicization
(C) been of increasing politicization
(D) politicized, increasingly,
(E) increased politicization

D and E are wrong because Olympics can't politicize itself.

B and C are wrong. Explanation:

Remember: noun form (politicization) refers to the result. And ver+ing or verb+ed form (politicized) refers to the action/process of that noun.
In this problem, we see that Olympics have been through the process of being politicized in recent years. So it should not use "politicization" which refers to the result. B and C out.
