One Packet Rule

Question

Hi All, 

Many top schools have a One Packet Policy, which means that all supplementary material has to be sent in only 1 package. So my question is, if the transcript is sent from the undergrad uni, the GMAT score sent from GMAC/Pearsonvue, and maybe one or more of the recommenders cannot do online and have to sent the rec via regular mail, how can this be in one packet? 

Or do you have to get the undergrad school, GMAC, and recommender to all send everything to you, and then you put it together in one packet and send it out?

Or when they say 1 packet, they do not include transcripts/test scores?

Youll need to get sealed envelops for each of them, then put them in one larger envelope and send it to the school from what I understand.

Don't the GMAT scores get sent electronically

You should call because I take supplemental to mean materials not required in the application process. They are to "supplement" your applications, so I would take this is as something you send besides the basic requested materials. It can't hurt to seek out an interpretation of this from the admissions people at the school.

For the GMAT scores, I hadn't initially sent my scores to Haas, but when I decided I was going to apply called customer service and had them sent. They went directly to the program, and all I received was a confirmation letter from GMAT customer service saying they had been sent.

Today I'm mailing my sealed transcripts I had received from my undergrad school in a larger envelope to the admissions office at Haas. I am guessing this is my one packet.

Hm...if this disqualifies me that would be extremely disappointing, b/c these essays have been swallowing my brain.

For OSU, I had to include in my "packet" my transcripts, any paper letters of recommendations (and I did have 1 person who didn't feel comfortable doing it online) my resume (unlike all other schools on earth, they didn't allow you to enter it in the online application) and a copy of my GMAT scores.

Now, the only reason that I included the GMAT scores was because since I took the test only a couple of weeks before the application deadline, they asked that I include it just in case they hadn't received the official scores yet. That way they could still consider my application complete and on-time. Turned out they had gotten them already anyways, but better safe than sorry!

As far as I understand, we have to send the hard copy of the envelope only if we get selected.

Every school is different, but Kellogg, UCLA, and Berkeley all said to send all transcripts and paper letters (and application fees if you're not paying online) in ONE packet.

The GMAT Scores should be electronically sent to them directly.
