What all should one so before one week to gmat?
- should i do chapter wise tests?
Yes, you could do topic-focused tests to review and find knowledge and skill gaps that you can address.

Quote:
- should i look for difficult questions on gmatclub?
Doing so could be helpful, but being strong in medium questions is important too.

Quote:
- should i work on my weak areas? If yes, what all to do?
Determine what your weaker areas are and then review the relevant concepts and strategies and do topic-focused practice until you get questions involving a topic correct consistently.

Quote:
- how many mocks should i take?
Probably just one and maximum two, and generally, it's best not to take one within two days of your test.

The day before your test, keep reviewing and practicing, but do less so that you're rested on test day.

On test day, warm up before the test by doing a few easy or medium practice questions.

Thank you for replying! All of this kind of feels overwhelming now- what's the the most effective way to utilize the last week?

One thing that may be helpful would be to look over your error-log. Taking a full Official Mock 5 days before your test day could be something to consider as well.

Hi ayushituteja02,

To start, you have to be careful about trying to do too much studying (since "cramming" rarely leads to great results with Exams such as the GMAT and you do not want to inadvertently 'burn out' before Test Day). In that same way, the process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT/mock requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically should not take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. If you wanted to take one more CAT in the next couple of days, then that would probably be fine, but you should not take any more than that. In the last few days before your Exam, you should limit your studies to general practice and light review - you would be better served by getting some extra rest so that you can go into Test Day calm, clear-headed and ready to work.

Before I can offer you any additional advice, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) Over the last month, how many hours have you typically studied each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi ayushituteja02,

Part of your plan should be related to how close you are to your score goal. When did you last take a practice test, and what was your score?
